Retirement and Resignation Festivities

At least 18 chancellors will be leaving the bench at the close of business on December 31 (actually on December 28, because the Governor decreed the 31st to be a holiday this year).
If there is a reception or ceremony scheduled in honor of your chancellor, readers of this blog might want to find out about it so that they can make plans to attend.

The info I have as of today:
- Chancellor Jerry Mason, District 12, retiring. Reception honoring him on December 14, 2018, from 1-3 pm in his Chancery courtroom on the second floor of the Lauderdale County Courthouse.
- Chief Judge Joe Lee of the COA, retiring. Ceremony and reception immediately following at the COA en banc courtroom, Gartin Justice Building, Jackson, November 15, 2018, at 2 pm.
- Chancellor John Grant, Rankin County. November 30th 1 – 3 pm. Rankin County Chancery Courthouse.

Chancellor Williams, Chancellor Doleac, Judge McPhail, Judge Andrews, Justice Fair, and Justice Lee will be honored at a reception in Hattiesburg, MS by the South Central Mississippi Bar Association. The event will be December 4 from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. at the Historic Train Depot.

Chancellor Ed Patten, 15th District, Retirement reception on Saturday, December 8, 2018, 2 p.m., at the Jimmy Furlow Senior Citizens Center, 201 South First Street, Brookhaven.
Chancellor Patricia Wise, of District Four of Hinds County, will be stepping down at the end of this year. A reception in her honor will be held on December 19, 2018 at the Civil Rights Museum’s Hall of History from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. in Jackson.
Chancellor William Singletary, of District Two of Hinds County, will be stepping down at the end of this year. A reception in his honor will be held on December 19, 2018 at the Civil Rights Museum’s Hall of History from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. in Jackson.
Chancellor David Clark, retiring, Dec 6th at 1:00 in circuit courtroom of Scott County in Forest, Ms.
All out 14th Chancery District are retiring, Dorothy Winston Colom, Jim Davidson, and Kenny Burns. There is a reception for then at the Lee Home in Columbus on December 7 from 2 to 5.
