What, if any, connection did Eddie Fisher have with Oxford or Mississippi?
None that I know of.
A bar in Oxford? No coeds in the picture?
I thought the distinction was that there is a child bellied up to the bar…..so I figured it must be in New Orleans, where that is normal.
Lamar lounge in Oxford! I believe that the bar is “recycled”. Not sure from where though! Love your blog, btw. Very informative and helpful.

As Ignatius mentioned in his comment, the bar is reputedly from the home of the famous Eddie Fisher, pop star of the 50’s and 60’s. He was father of Carrie Fisher by Debbie Reynolds, who was one of his 5 marriages. Other wives included Elizabeth Taylor and Connie Stevens.
I haven’t been in awhile, but it looks like the bar at Lamar Lounge in Oxford. If so, if I remember correctly, the actual bar was from the actor Eddie Fisher’s home. Lamar Lounge is one of John Currence’s restaurants. Profits are donated to charity.
