Drat. Immediately recognized it from many visits when my grandparents were still alive in Port Gibson. Haven’t been by there in a long time.
The graveyard especially is impressive in its simplicity. Having grown up in SW La, I was enchanted by all the Spanish moss, which has disappeared from much of my native land since the 70’s. I have a post coming up tomorrow with more about Rocky Springs.
Rodney, Mississippi ?
Good guess, but it’s not Rodney. It’s Rocky Springs on the Natchez Trace above Port Gibson.
Beautiful place. Came through that area this week on a pleasant ride back from Natchez.
It’s really quite scenic. I had never been on that stretch of the Trace before.
