I believe that is the “Little Red” in Holmes County where the Order of the Eastern Star was born. We escape the Delta through the Tchula-Lexington exit sometimes so I’ve seen it quite a few times.
That’s right. Eureka Masonic College, aka “The Little Red Schoolhouse,” in the Richland community of Holmes County. Dr. Robert Morris, principal of the school, originated the idea of the OES and started it there in 1849. The school closed in 1959. It had been founded as Richland Literary Institute in February, 1848.
