actually not sure that’s so– I may have misread the search result.
Even more interesting– Google has now “learned” the correct answer– when you do the image search today, you get the correct answer.
I don’t want to ruin the fun, so I will say how I found it without spoiling the quiz.
I like playing with google image search, which will allow you to use an image to search. I plugged this image in and came up with some “answers” that were total garbage– did not even close, but it allows you to describe the property and I wrote: “Mississippi jail,” and it brought up the _____ courthouse. I figured the details on the roof-line of this old jail would match the courthouse, and, sure enough, there was my answer on a courthouse. I clicked through to the web page, and there was your answer.
Clevair! Yes, it’s the Walthall County Jail in Taylorsville. Well, at least this one took a few hours to figure out. Good job!
Waynesboro-Quitman-Meridian atty Marcus Evans took that pic and emailed it to me.
If anybody has any possible stumpers, send ’em to me. I don’t get around the state as much as I used to when I was in practice.
Tylertown? Love that little jail. Webster County has a neat old one behind the courthouse as well.
Picayune?
No, but you’re not too far off.
I’ve seen a similar door on a building that is a former speakeasy in Memphis.
Good guess, but this no speakeasy, and I’m afraid you’re ‘way north of where this is located.
